|Make Google Chrome window smaller than my full screen?||Christys48||6/13/11 11:18 AM|
I do not like a full screen browser, it's annoying to minimize it everytime I need to check something on my desktop or in another file. If I can not make Google Chrome smaller it will be removed, I can not operate when my full screen is occupied with a window that covers other applications I am working on simutaneously.

ok chrome should be like any other window. You should be able to maximise it, restore it so you can resize it or minimise it.
I don't want to tell you the obvious, but top right hand corner, can you see three icons
"" Maximise / restore
can you see all of these and what happens if you click the middle one?

TY cave_troll haha that would actually be funny if those commands accomplished anything.
The Maximize/Restore Down only makes a pretty blue line around the edges of the page :) Minimize of course puts it on the Tool Bar, but that defeats the purpose of having multi windows open to read at the same time. The cute wrench symbol is for Customizing, it has Options in it but nothing that reduces the size of the window. And the nifty Gear symbol that says Options gives page preferences, without giving an option to 'size' the whole page.
Needless to say, at this point Google Chrome in no longer my default page, way too annoying.

Hi - seems to me that you should resize the "restored" view (with that blue line) to a size that you like. Now the icon switches between full size and "almost fullsize" . Like any other windows window :) Pick up the righthandbottomcorner and drag to the position you like.

any updates for us?
from your description of "The Maximize/Restore Down only makes a pretty blue line around the edges of the page" it sounds like the normal window size is fulling your screen.
Once you can see the "pretty blue line" can you hover the mouse cursor over that line? does the cursor change to a double headed arrow indicating that you can then drag that line to make the window smaller?

Thanks for the replys. After my last entry here I deleted Google Chrome because none of the solutions you have mentioned were options. These are common solutions and I had already tried them, repeatedly. I just downloaded GC again 5 minutes ago, it appears Google either reads the forums or got other input, the whole thing has changed. The browser window no longer opens to my full screen, it now opens as a normal size window. This is a different version than the one I originally had.
