How do I stop Chrome from opening new TAB for every page click on web page? DLBindy 2/17/11 6:43 AM
Google Chrome version (9.0.597.98 beta):Operating System (Windows/64 bit):Error Message (for every page click in a web site CHROME creates a new TAB):Extensions installed: (13 different extensions installed)

Please describe your question/comment in detail: Every time I work with an open web page and click on or take an action CHROME creates a new TAB. This is very very aggravating and I can't figure out how to fix it.

Please help me on this. Thank you.
David

can you list your extensions? also, you could try uninstalling/reinstalling, backup your bookmarks with google sync

My extensions are: AOL Mail, Chrome Toolbox, Chrome TV, Click & Clean, eBay Extension, Google Calendar, Google Calendar Checker, Google Mail Checker, Google Voice, Mini Google Maps, Send From Gmail, Speed Dial, Weather Underground.

I have not complete the uninstall/reinstall.

What do you think about going to Chrome V10/beta?

Ok. I have found that uninstalling & reinstalling CHROME fixed the problem. I run Win 7 / 64 bit but V10 won't load for some reason. The latest version 9 seems to be working ok now. Take care all...

Look at your Chrome Toolbox Options.

It's under Setting (wrench icon) - Tools - Extensions. There you should see 'Chrome Toolbox Options'. It is an extension by Google. Click on Options under Chrome Toolbox Options. The second item under Tab is what your looking for.

Hope this helps.

It is a good idea to have Chrome Toolbox Options installed.
