|the ' to load' arrow in the address bar has disappeared and the ' add bookmark' star is sitting in its place in chrome 6||siddhartha mahavira||8/21/10 3:31 AM|
Google Chrome version (type about:version into the address bar):Operating System:Error Message:Extensions installed:
Please describe your question/comment in detail (for example, steps to reproduce the problem):
Version is: 6.0.472.41 beta; operating system is : windows vista ( home basic ); extensions installed: none.
The loading arrow in the address bar ( at the right corner) was very useful as it allowed one to use chrome completely with a mouse. But now I have to reach out for the keyboard from my chair to press the ENTER key each time i copy and paste something in the address bar.As I am a student and mostly view visual and audio materials and seldom use the keyboard, this is very cumbersome for me.Although Google Chrome is certainly the best browser of the world , is there any way to get that loading arrow back in its place ? Thanks!

Newer versions of Chrome don't have this option. If you really want, you could downgrade to an earlier Chrome version.

That's not going to help us when version 6 becomes stable.
The old Go button doesn't add any clutter while, as clearly demonstrated by the OP, it makes the user experience simpler and easier.
Furthermore, moving the Bookmark star is going to confuse current users. There's no need for it to be moved. Currently it's with all of the other page actions, where it belongs.
Unfortunately, all the Google surveys I've seen are simple "Very Satisfied/Satisfied/Dissatisfied/Very Dissatisfied" surveys, without any way to provide specific feedback or explanations. If I could rate their surveys I'd put down Very Dissatisfied. But they'd never know why.

I flat out don't like my bookmarks star at the right of the address bar or not having my 'go' arrow. I don't like having to go to my keyboard all the time either.
I don't much like all my editing and management tools in the one place either but I could live with that.
I wish people would stop fixing things that aren't broken.
Is there a way to get things back as they were?
I'm on XP and have no extensions (at least, I don't think I have).
I do like Chrome in general and was very happy using it. Not so now.

I agree with the others. I was much confused to why everything had changed around. I thought I had changed some settings accidentally as I am on a laptop and easily always touch the wrong thing. I liked the bookmark star on the left, I don't see why it needed to move. I also which there could be a lock on preferences so they do not accidentally change i.e. zoom. I always hit my laptop mouse and mess things up! (Come on! Is the FB people doing this?)

I AGREE I LIKE THE STAR ON THE LEFT AND THE RIGHT SIDE AS IT WAS. IS THERE A WAT TO PUT IT THE WAY IT WAS?
