|How to set the new tab page as my home page...||Galaxiadarkness||11/3/11 8:27 AM|
Google Chrome Version: 15.0.874.106
Operating System: Windows Vista
Extensions Installed:New Tab Redirect!
This seems to be an odd question since most people are trying to get rid of the "New Tab Page", but I want to be able to access it. Ideally, I want to set my browser to open to Google every time I open Chrome and every time I open a tab. I have already achieved this with the "New Tab Redirect!" extension, but I also want to be able to access the page that is usually the new tab page by clicking on the home button. Right now I have my home page set as "new tab page", but because of the redirect extension, it goes to Google. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to make this work?

You can't have both. Remove the extension, and you'll have the New Page tab back. You can set Google.com to open as your home page, and the + tab will stay as the New Page tab.

I would recommend uninstalling whatever extension you have installed first. It's obviously not doing what you want. I too have the new tab page as my homepage :) click on the wrench (top right) and choose "options" from the drop down menu. The second section should be "Home Page." In this section you should be able to choose "Use the New Tab page"
Hope this helps! :D

1st set your "Home Page" and "On Starup" as "chrome://newtab". 2nd uninstall any whatever extension you have installed. 3rd Go to Customize and control google chrome(upper right) > Tools (or) Option > Extension > Put a check in Developer Mode and Click the Update Extensions Now.
