What file are you opening? Which website? What version of Chrome and operating system are you using? Can you reproduce the problem on another browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox?

I'm having the same problem. When I try in install Adobe Flash Player in Chrome, it downloads, then as I'm trying to install I get "error opening file for writing.... NWSWF32.dll". I absolutely can't figure out how to get around this. I'm on Vista 64 SP1 using Chrome 5.0.375.55, btw.

Chrome has an internal Flash player in development. It is turned off in your version of Chrome, as there is some insablility.
To turn the internal flash player on, close Chrome.
Right click on your shortcut for Chrome and select Properties.
At the enable of Target field, add --enable-internal-flash. Make sure there is a space between the last character of the command line and --enable.
Close Properties box.
