|How do I sync ical with google calendar (OSX Lion)?||luiznakamai||9/26/11 6:57 AM|
In fact, I just made this question in order to help some people with syncing problems. My Ical would receive updates from Google calendar, but no the other way around. I tried everything told in this forum: deleting and recreating my account, deleting the library, deleting the "/", but none of these options would work. But Mbuenon, from other post just solved my problem and I guess his solution will probably solve yours.
The post can be seen here: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Calendar/thread?tid=64352362b1dfddf6&hl=en
The solution is basically this: when you create and event, it will appear a dialog box where we can change the alarms, colors, time, alerts... In this box, there is a part where "calendar" is written with a small colored rectangle besides it. Just click it. Then you have some options, in my case three. Click the rectangle and it will expand. Under "On my Mac", I have work and home. Under "Google", I have an option with my name. Just select your name under google and it will sync flawlessly.
Hope this helps.
ICal doesn't sync with google calendar

Another thing I forgot to mention:
The easiest way to always use your syncing calendar is this:With ICal opened, got to preferences. Under the "general" option, just choose the google account with your name as your default calendar. Now, every time you create an event at your ICal, it will automatically sync with your Google Calendar.
Hope this helps.

Thank you! Your post got me through my struggle with getting iCal and my google calendars synced. I was not checking for the google option to the Calendar Template drop-down in iCal preferences. Once done, then done!
