|Reminder: Soliciting business in the Help forum is against posting guidelines||vanessagene||5/1/12 10:40 AM|
Every now and then, I see a poster use the forum as a way to solicit business, usually by responding to a user’s question with just a quick line about how their services can help and their contact information. So let me use this post as a reminder that that kind of posting activity is against our forum guidelines. You can find these guidelines in our Help Center (I also link to them on the homepage of the Help forum).Take note of the bit about “promotional spam”:
Please always try to give a helpful response. It’s not OK to say things like "Contact me and I'll fix it” or "Contact me and I'll get you to #1" — that’s not the kind of space we’re trying to build here. We want many users, beyond the original poster, to benefit from your awesome, public answer. And I personally don’t want to be in the business of banning users (that’s not very fun for anyone).
