HOw do you change the password in google apps sync CurtisCo 11/25/09 7:42 AM
I have a user that has had his password changed.  I tried to change the password in the mail profile, but the google apps sync tool for Outlook still does not authenticate.  How can I change the password?   I tried the google captcha tool, but the tool does not recognize the user's email address!??!?!

I'm guessing here, but Sync For Outlook just sets up a profile in Outlook. You will probably have to go into the Outlook profile and change the password there.

Have you tried deleting the password from the Start Menu option (Google Apps Sync -> Delete saved passwords)?

ok, the full instructions for MS Outlook 2007 are:

once the password has been changed by an admin or online

1. Go to start menu and open up Google Apps Sync | Delete saved Google Apps Sync passwords
2. Delete the relevant password
3. Go back into Outlook. Click on File | Offline to go back online.
4. Press send/receive and you'll be promoted to enter the new password.

Note: this may work without steps 1/2 but I haven't tried it.

Note: there is no other way to change the password in the mail setting etc so don't bother looking

I have also found an app in the installed google apps sync folder called "profilepassworddelete"

Works like a charm.
