My YouTube account just got monetized recently and it is acting really weird. I have been trying to do a series of Let's Plays for Mega Man X and the first two parts passed review in a matter of seconds. Parts 3 and 5 are still under review and part 4 has a big exclamation point next to saying "Not monetized. Click to provide proof of commercial use rights." All the videos have the same general content, Mega Man X gameplay with me commentating over it. So why did two of the videos get monetized in no time at all, two videos are still being reviewed and one video requires proof?

I'm having the same problem! - I used to be a regular YouTuber before - But I had to Leave for like 3 months due to work. Before my absence - When I would monetize my videos and they would monetize almost Instantly (Green Box with white dollar sign)
But now after my return - I uploaded like 5 videos and they are ALL Stuck under review for like 3 days now!
I don't see what the problem is - Because they are like the same videogame I am playing like I used to before and I am providing constant commentary on it too
And the worst part is that all the subsequent videos I try to upload also get stuck under review after I try to monetize them!

Now another of my Mega Man videos has been denied and it is doing the same thing as part 4 where I can't edit anything on the actual post because of the stupid "Choose which option best describes you" box which I didn't even click on. I unchecked the Monetized box and it still wouldn't let me save any changes I made to the video. What the hell, YouTube?

So does that mean that I can still monetize future gameplay videos and have them be accepted? And what about the one that is stuck in review limbo?

@deadman... You are having trouble monetizing limbo gameplay videos too?
Same here!. At first they accept my first few videos and after that all subsequent ones have been rejected

No, I mean it's stuck in Under Review, like stuck in limbo. Not actual gameplay of Limbo.

Videos being under review for weeks and even over a month is very common in youtube. You just have to wait or you can un-monetize and then re-monetize.

How do I know when I am not infringing on anyone's rights?

What I mean is that you must make sure that you have the right to commercially use all the contents in your video. Note "commercially use". This is because some content owners may allow you to use their stuff as far as you are not using it to make money.
Secondly, you must be ready to provide proof of that right. This can come in either express written permission by the content owners or you can provide link to their web site where they state that people have the right to use their contents to make money.
Make sure there are no background music that you don't have right to use and make sure there are no pictures or posters like coca cola behind you. By adhering to these points, it means that you are not infringing on anybody's rights
Once you can fulfill the above, go ahead, upload and monetize.
