I'm experiencing the same issue as Aztechian
I hope the call log issue can be sorted out soon - growing pains i guess.

I can't tell if I'm having similar issues on the T-Mob version. I can't get GV to become the default VM service. It tries to send a text to my device to configure my account, then I get a ""Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped." message.
Guidance would be outstanding.

I have the same issue on my AT&T Galaxy S III. Call log shows the out going google voice number not the contact I'm "calling". Would like to be able to use my log.

On your PC or MAC
Turn power off for 60 seconds on your DSL or Cable Modem.
Go to http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=12336 and enable Other.
Is your browser current? http://support.google.com/mail/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=107906&from=76137&rd=1
Clear cache and cookies http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
On your PC, click the Start button, click All Programs, and then click Windows Update.
Reset any Google Voice settings that may be incorrect.

My issue is on my Samsung Galaxy 3 phone not on a PC /Mac. Mind you I'm using Ubuntu.. but thanks!

Can't get GV to work with my S3 (att). The GV website method didn't work for me. Manually setting my forwards to my gv number didnt work either.
The callers never gets forwarded to voicemail... it just rings and rings on their end until the call times out. Resetting with ##004# puts them back to ATT voicemail box... setting forwards again - manually or with *004*<gv number># - brings the whole thing back to callers never getting pushed to any voice mail box and timing out.
Help from anyone who got it to work on ATT would be very much appreciated. :)

@nnugles, Your issue sounds like it's a Google Voice settings thing. It sounds like your phone is actually changing the forwarding settings. That *should* be all you need for basic functionality.
Is your phone shown on the GV website as a "Mobile" type, and can you detect the carrier?
Also, check your settings (on website) under "Groups and Circles". Set the "All Contacts" group to ring at least your mobile phone, and have a valid greeting selected. Turn off call screening if it's active (at least for now to test).
Find out what group the caller you were testing with is in.

Maybe check with AT&T as to whether they "allow" you to change the voicemail number.

I am having the same issue since getting my GS3 with ATT but had no issue with my previous phone the ATT Atrix 4G. So far no progress on getting the contacts info to correspond to the outgoing call log rather than just showing the GV go between relay number.
There is a work around though untill they find a fix. For the people you contact frequently just add that GV go between relay number to that persons contact info and from then on it will show them when in the log for outgoing calls to them.

I could never get this to work on my GS3. I switched to CM10 and the situation completely disappeared. It's something Samsung is doing with their phone app.
Now I just switched to a Nexus 4 so zero issues with stock.
