Collada export Carambole 4/28/12 8:28 AM SketchUp Version:8.0 HiHow can I change the default point of view in a collada file when exporting from SketchUp? When I export my billiard table, it looks as if I am lying under it... Thank you
Re: Collada export Colin Holgate 4/29/12 7:32 AM What program are you viewing the exported file in?
Re: Collada export Carambole 4/29/12 12:03 PM I see the same angle in Preview from Apple as I see when importing it into iBooks Author
Re: Collada export Gaieus 4/29/12 12:08 PM Some applications swap the Y/Z co-ordinates. It seems that these apps do the same. In SU, some exporters have the option to do this as well (like fbx) but not in Collada. I would experiment a bit - maybe you will need to lay the table on its side...
Re: Collada export Colin Holgate 4/30/12 2:21 PM The views I see of 3D objects looks the same in Finder, Preview, and iBooks Author, and in all cases it looks correct. If you try someone else's model, say this one: http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=fed1ab0afaa24c884e5381dcd5bfb763
Re: Collada export Carambole 5/1/12 8:24 AM The Collada files are perfect, when I download the Sketchup Files, they look perfect in Sketchup, but when I export them to Collada on my computer it is all turned again. Is there a program setting or is it a bug in my version (8011751 on Mac)?
Re: Collada export Gaieus 5/1/12 8:32 AM Have you tried rotating your model befor exporting?
Re: Collada export Anssi 5/1/12 9:19 AM When making your model, have you made changes to the SketchUp axes, or used the coordinates in a nonstandard way? The normal way to model is with the red and green axes defining the ground plane and the blue axes defining the "up" direction. Can you
Re: Collada export Colin Holgate 5/1/12 11:19 AM He did post a screenshot of his model, and blue was up.
