I am looking at another possibility, my gmail contacts in both cases have Google + profiles.I think that the nexus is using the profiles to merge the information, is the only suggestion that I have. I was able to verify that none of my accounts
Re: Galaxy Nexus Issue unwanted contact merging Paul 8/1/12 9:21 AM Aha! I hadn't considered that possibility, but now that you bring it up I think that is the way it's designed to work. Google+ profiles are considered 1-person-per-profile, so I wouldn't be surprised if the People app is combining them.
