For the PC I used a small app called copytrans Contacts.
First I connected my iphone to my computer, and had my iphone contacts to show up:
Then, dragged/dropped the contacts from my phone to a folder on my PC.
Finally, I connected my new iPhone and dragged/dropped the contact entries from my PC back to my new iphone. It worked:
