ASUS Nexus 7 SteveyJ 7/30/12 6:57 AM I preordered my Nexus 7 on the 29th of June and received it on the 19th of July. Upon turning it on the right hand side of the screen failed which was reported to Google after an hours wait on the phone. I was told that someone would be in touch with
Re: ASUS Nexus 7 Paul 7/30/12 11:20 AM I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience getting your Nexus 7 back for a replacement. I just checked with the team that's handling the returns and they're still estimating 1 to 2 (business) day turnaround on the replacements. Check your spam filter
Re: ASUS Nexus 7 SteveyJ 7/30/12 11:29 AM Thank you Paul, I had the promised email within 2 minutes of your reply. I did ring last wednesday but was told it was just with the returns team and there was nothing more they could do. The returns policy seems to be very disappointing aswell, plac
Re: ASUS Nexus 7 Paul 7/30/12 3:02 PM As I understand it, the money you're referring to isn't a charge, it's an authorization. Essentially we check to see that should you keep the new device, there are sufficient funds available for you to pay for it. No actual money is transferred betwe
Re: ASUS Nexus 7 SteveyJ 7/31/12 12:00 AM I understand that but Google is earmarking £199 of my money which I cannot use until Google remove the authorisation. Why should I have a hold on £199 of my money? I've never known any other company do this for a return.
Re: ASUS Nexus 7 SteveyJ 8/15/12 7:45 AM So I have my new Nexus 7 but I still have not received the email from Google to actually return the faulty one. The 21 day return policy or I get charged for the replacement is looking very likely. What on earth are Google playing at?! Absolutely aby
Re: ASUS Nexus 7 Paul 8/15/12 2:24 PM My understanding is that the shipping company should have generated the shipping label as soon as your replacement device was sent to you, but it sounds like something went wrong. Have you replied on the email thread with the agent you're in touch wi
Re: ASUS Nexus 7 Tom9020 8/15/12 3:34 PM @SteveyJI think they really have to do that.  Otherwise there are people who would take advantage to get a 2nd device without paying for it. Compare with my cell provider.  If my phone breaks, on warranty, I return it to them and wait for at least 2-
Re: ASUS Nexus 7 SteveyJ 8/15/12 11:44 PM I've replied to the original returns email and rang the Google helpdesk, neither of which have helped. If I get charged an additional £199 because I've been unable to return the defective unit because Google are incapable of arranging a return proper
Re: ASUS Nexus 7 Paul 8/16/12 10:22 AM I'll see what I can do, SteveyJ. I'm sorry this hasn't been a smooth process for you.
Re: ASUS Nexus 7 SteveyJ 8/16/12 10:32 AM Thank you Paul. Much appreciated.
Re: ASUS Nexus 7 SteveyJ 8/16/12 11:02 AM Paul makes things happen again. Thank you very much!
Re: ASUS Nexus 7 bobraxton 8/25/12 9:42 AM Not sure there is a "real" problem with my Nexus 7.I made one other Post. The power button (the only one I had used - wakes up, puts to sleep) does not seem to be making anything happen now.I am re-charging my Nexus 7 (purchased directly). What else
Re: ASUS Nexus 7 Paul 8/27/12 10:12 AM It's possible the battery on your tablet has been drained completely dry, bobraxton, in which case the it might not start up immediately. Try plugging your tablet in for two or three hours using the charger that came in the box. Using the provided ch
Re: ASUS Nexus 7 Power On 8/28/12 7:41 AM I also have the occasional unresponsive power button.  Both when asleep and after a full power off.  No response to power button when I try to power on.  Might work after 15 pushes or holding power button down for 10 seconds or more.  Nothing to do w
Re: ASUS Nexus 7 Paul 8/28/12 10:24 AM I'd recommend returning it, Power On. Even if it were a software problem, I doubt Asus would be able to verify that without physically examining the button hardware.
