Nexus S Battery Drain Issue with ICS 4.0.4 kutlu 4/2/12 8:41 PM I am using the Nexus S i9020T with ICS 4.0.4 which arrived OTA a few days ago.Until yesterday, everything looked normal; battery lasted about 1 working day with all radios on - and with moderate use. Yesterday, I took a 20 mile drive using Google Ma
Nexus S Battery Drain Issue with ICS 4.0.4 Jean-Hugues 4/3/12 7:20 AM I am very sorry for your problem, but it seems that the battery issue under 4.0.3 has been solved. It is because you kindly report the % of Android OS and Android System. I do hope that your trouble will also be solved soon...
Re: Nexus S Battery Drain Issue with ICS 4.0.4 winifredrayen 4/6/12 4:11 AM I have attached the screenshot, my Phone has been dying ever since i upgraded it to 4.0.4. Initially it was ok, but when i installed my apps, the usage went from 30% to 87%. Kindly take a look at that screenshot..
Re: Nexus S Battery Drain Issue with ICS 4.0.4 Flit 4/7/12 2:46 PM I'm having the exactly  same problem with my Nexus S, ICS 4.0.4. Before upgrading, the phone could go 36+hours on  a charge with most of the battery being used by screen. Now Android OS is using 60+% and I have to charge every 7 hours or so. Wie geht
Re: Nexus S Battery Drain Issue with ICS 4.0.4 robiouster 4/8/12 10:39 AM Same here. Battery life has been horrible after the update. Will last around 6 hours with moderate use. WHAT THE HELL GOOGLE???!!!
Re: Nexus S Battery Drain Issue with ICS 4.0.4 rainwater 4/8/12 7:35 PM I'm getting around 30-35 hours since 4.0.4.  Granted, I have a new battery.  The NS is getting pretty old so it makes sense that battery life is dropping for most people if they are still using the original battery.  Anyways, some apps do not work we
Re: Nexus S Battery Drain Issue with ICS 4.0.4 Flit 4/8/12 7:49 PM Before 4.0.4 I regularly got 35+ hours of use on a single charge.  Immediately after the 4.0.4 update, I started getting less than 7 hours.  It's very doubtful that the 6 month old battery is the issue.  If I can revert back to the previous version,
Re: Nexus S Battery Drain Issue with ICS 4.0.4 T.Ch. 4/9/12 1:36 PM I had the similar problem with "Android System" draining the battery. Turns out Google+ is the culprit. You can't uninstall Google+ but you can disable it under "Manage apps".
Re: Nexus S Battery Drain Issue with ICS 4.0.4 Flit 4/9/12 2:01 PM Before the 4.0.4 upgrade, I was running Google+ with no problems, and itwas possible to use the phone for about 35 hours. After the 4.0.4 upgrade, the battery began draining excessively, and thephone will now last no more than 7 hours on a charge. It
Re: Nexus S Battery Drain Issue with ICS 4.0.4 T.Ch. 4/9/12 3:06 PM I don't use Google+ so I didn't have it installed before the upgrade. I had the similar battery drain problem after the upgrade and I have the same applications installed, except Google+, which is bundled in 4.0.4. As I said, you cannot uninstall it
Re: Nexus S Battery Drain Issue with ICS 4.0.4 Flit 4/9/12 3:39 PM The "Manage Apps" in Settings has been replaced by "Apps".  Unlike "Manage Apps", "Apps" does not allow access to Google+.  Or is there another "Manage Apps" elsewhere, not in Settings? Do you know how to disable Google+ now, with 4.0.4?  It would be
Re: Nexus S Battery Drain Issue with ICS 4.0.4 T.Ch. 4/9/12 3:50 PM Menu button -> Manage apps -> Swipe the top bar (Downloaded/USB Storage/Running) to right -> ALL -> Find "Google+" -> Disable (Basically System settings -> Apps is the same thing)
Re: Nexus S Battery Drain Issue with ICS 4.0.4 Flit 4/9/12 4:29 PM The "swipe to the right" did it...thanks!  Will let everyone know in a couple of days if battery use returns to normal.
Re: Nexus S Battery Drain Issue with ICS 4.0.4 suizar 4/10/12 6:53 AM Same here for me. I have two new-ish batteries, both proper official ones, same problems on both. Everything was fine on 4.0.3, Google + was not a cause of battery drain. I just lost 5% battery in 20 mins just playing around with the screen and openi
Re: Nexus S Battery Drain Issue with ICS 4.0.4 Flit 4/10/12 9:06 AM It has now been 7 hours since the last charge and a) the phone is at 85% (normally, before disabling Google+, it would be below 20% and I would be plugging it in) and b) the primary "drainer" is the screen again which is using 27% of the battery-befo
Re: Nexus S Battery Drain Issue with ICS 4.0.4 suizar 4/10/12 2:08 PM I've just revisited this again in the light of Flit's information regarding Google +. For me the problem is not Google+; I have disabled auto-sync and disabled the Google+ application, and there is no difference. I'm losing 1% every 2 or 3 minutes wh
Re: Nexus S Battery Drain Issue with ICS 4.0.4 Flit 4/10/12 2:35 PM Yours is a different power drain issue indeed.  After disabling Google+, my phone's battery discharge rate went back to normal, running all day on a single charge and still having enough juice to last another 24 hours or so.  More important to me, th
Re: Nexus S Battery Drain Issue with ICS 4.0.4 JasXPear 4/10/12 11:55 PM Same issue with 4.0.4 on my Nexus S. I think Exchange Services is the issue but have disabled Google+ this morning to test.
Re: Nexus S Battery Drain Issue with ICS 4.0.4 andrerabelo 4/11/12 10:58 AM Same here. Updated Nexus S (3G) with OTA update and now battery is lasting 40% less! In my case, Exchange is been pointed as the bad guy. Tried to disabling the autosync I'm used to, but got no notable difference from that. That's so unfortunate. ICS
Re: Nexus S Battery Drain Issue with ICS 4.0.4 nexussca 4/11/12 5:32 PM I just posted this in another discussion thread, then I found this one.  Here is what I just posted: I found out that the power consumption is much worse with 4.0.4 than 4.0.3 on my Nexus S!  It's about 5% of battery drain per hour just on standby
Re: Nexus S Battery Drain Issue with ICS 4.0.4 Flit 4/12/12 4:27 AM In regards to your next handset being an iPhone:Many of us have been lulled into a sense of complacency that Android is a commodity rather than an advanced technology, with each new version of the OS offering better functionality than the last. Re: Nexus S Battery Drain Issue with ICS 4.0.4 nonblank 4/12/12 11:24 AM i tried this, and it helped! go to:system settings>system>developer options>appscheck-> don't keep activitiesandset background process limit to-> no background process try this and see if it helps!..
Re: Nexus S Battery Drain Issue with ICS 4.0.4 synkronized 4/12/12 7:45 PM Gave that a shot, but the Facebook application won't let me post anything (comments, status updates, etc) if I leave the "Don't Keep Activities"checkbox checked. It would certainly help, but it's inhibiting a basic app function unfortunately :(
Re: Nexus S Battery Drain Issue with ICS 4.0.4 synkronized 4/12/12 8:01 PM Have read the posts here, glad to know I'm not the only one. Running a Nexus S i9020A with 4.0.4, and was losing 20% of battery every hour. Disabled Google+, followed the suggestions posted here and did all the regular things to limit CPU activity, b
Re: Nexus S Battery Drain Issue with ICS 4.0.4 kutlu 4/12/12 9:31 PM The % use of Android System (or any other application) varies with what the phone is used for - heavy use of other subsystems (screen, Bluetooth, Exhange, etc) determines the % of the rest - so it is all relative. I did some tests since my original p
