I love Google Keep, but it needs the option to share/collab individual notes and to-do lists with others.

I agree and thanks for posting in the forum.
Have a nice day
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||Josh Blaha||4/8/13 6:28 AM|
I think that would make it perfect.
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||Philippe Clinet||4/8/13 8:37 AM|
So do I.
Please activate this functionnality.
So that use one application for google keep and google task.
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||Craig Pattison||4/8/13 7:51 PM|
I was looking for this too.

|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||Ben Kagan||4/9/13 7:30 AM|
I agree that sharing notes would be a huge benefit.
Also, combining gTask and gKeep would streamline and enhance the product.
I never used tasks very much but I'm using Keep a great deal now and can see the benefit of Task.
One other feature that would be nice would be a desktop application that would replace Windows stickynote. I use stickynote daily but always wish it had a backup/syncing feature.
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||Christina Lidwin||4/9/13 10:12 AM|
+1 This is a feature I would use.
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||David Flores V.||4/9/13 10:53 PM|
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||Levin Kagy||4/10/13 12:54 PM|
Agreed Ben, sharing functions are the highest on my list.
"Keep" in email would also bring some excellent functionality to a somewhat-neglected part of gmail. For email-centric organizations and individuals (hi!), operational tasks are a natural outgrowth of the medium - improving this section of the product with the functionality & accessibility that "Keep" is showing would be, in my opinion, a great overall enhancement.
Desktop standalone would be a secondary concern for myself personally, but I can see the merit. I don't live exclusively in web apps yet, but have migrated a significant portion of my workload to them over the last few years.
Despite the folks grumpy about Google 'ripping off' this idea, "Keep" is a solid start to improving task-handling within the ecosystem. Nice work! Excited to see new developments on this front.

|Google Keep Sharing/Collab||Scott Gerstenberger||4/10/13 6:29 PM|
Strongly agree. +1
Only problem I see with that is then my wife can send me even more to-do lists. ;)
|Google Keep Sharing/Collab||kushner||4/11/13 6:16 PM|
Yes, agreed. If I read correctly, that I can share a list (for example; groceries) and my wife could have access to the same list and either her or me can check them off and it'll update on either of our phones on keep app.
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||A Private Individual||4/11/13 10:13 PM|
use catch or evernote for sharing.
no sharing functionality makes your data more secure.
I enjoy having a place to store sensitive private data.
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||kushner||4/11/13 10:20 PM|
Still needs to be requested for access and permitted by original creator of a list. Don't see how that's not secure.
Besides by simply being connected to the internet even if keep is offline can be considered not secure. Still being used be a device with is "plugged in"
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||imitto||4/12/13 1:03 AM|
Agree, need this function!
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||Ahmed Alkatheeri||4/12/13 3:21 PM|
I agree with you also, I hope from Google to make many to-do list in one project like Basecamp ta-da list.

Keep is a part of Drive, and Drive already has sharing. Unfortunately, Keep's datastore is hidden in Drive. I don't know how Keep's data is organized, but if each note were a separate file with the Keep label, then individual notes would be sharable. I think that would be ideal.
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||Peppe Ragusa||5/5/13 1:30 PM|

|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||davidjrupe||5/14/13 6:49 AM|
Keep is cool...google's software is great...but they just can't seem to integrate them very well. The whole issue is integration. Everything is a different tool and there and transitioning between them is horrible.
For instance, google wave. Awesome product, really cool stuff. Why wasn't it fully integrated with gmail, allowing you to g-wave within gmail? That is why it failed. Same thing with google voice. Awesome product, but why can't I have voice messages and g-voice texts show up in a g-wave like format within my gmail inbox and compose dialogs...so I can send and receive from the same location? How come google talk is a separate add on to gmail rather than fully integrated with my g-wave/gmail interface? How are all these tools different? They are all a way to communicate with others and should not be separate tools, they should be one tool in which you can seamlessly communicate in any method you choose.
Google has awesome products but very poor product integration. Imaging if they could stop developing separate products and focus their efforts on one integrated product? Contact lists, one for voice, one for gmail, seriously?
You don't need email, talk, google+, google voice, google wave, etc... to send someone a message!!! You need 'gcommunicate'. Then no matter what medium you are on, the message gets where it should go. One inbox, one outbox, one file storage location, one contact list...I don't care how my message gets to the other and I don't want to keep track of it with 5 different tools. 1/2 a conversation on google +, half on voice... I want it all on 'gcommunicate'.
Poor product management...Google, you are killing your own GREAT products, wasting development money on short life cycle disjoint niche products. You can't 'keep' users if the new gadgets don't fit in the same tool belt.

I'd say this is pretty much the only thing Keep is missing for me.
We've got basic share... But collaboration on Notes/Lists, the ability to indent lists... Those two things would make it perfect. an added benefit would be the ability to add the notes to your Google Calendar like Tasks.
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||vivek -mishra||5/29/13 1:13 PM|
add reminders feature........ plsss

I agree this feature needs to be in google keep ,for that it would be easier to share a note of things you want to someone.Then, an document for the same nature,but that is just me.

|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||mike jean||6/8/13 10:52 PM|
For my very first post on Google+ I'd like to enlighten all of you an amazing feature of sharing whether if it was intended or not i found a work around to have sync-able sharing with my wife for contacts, calender and most recently and importantly "KEEP" on android or the computer I believe through use of 2 android smart phones.
This is how I simply did it.
2 Gmail accounts (in this case my wife's and mine)
A smart enough phone (or user) to be able to sync and multi sign in on accounts such as galaxy S4
2 Google Keep apps ( 1 on each phone)
first i created a Keep account on my email
then downloaded Keep on my wife's. but here is the flip.....
when you log into keep just log into the same account that the keep you want to sync with, so essentially your tricking the droid to believe you are signed in on both devices.
the trick is to now on both devices make sure that when the other phone is syncing on the primary gmail account. it will only sync the primary "keep" and not the other stuff such as gmail and other info you don't want to share.
but since we lead our lives as one, we both have each others accounts fully integrated on each others devices for contacts and calenders and now keep, allowing us to send each other notes, pics, calender notifications all through sync.
1. open Keep app in android
2. press menu button
3. press Settings
4. press Switch accounts
5. Add 2nd account
6. SIGN IN ON KEEP USING THE PRIMARY ACCOUNT AND...
VOILA! SHARED KEEP!
PLEASE 1+ IF YOU FOUND THIS USEFUL!

Yes please! If Keep was just like Google Calendar, with the ability to have various notes, some of which are shared and some of which aren't, which automatically'sync'themselves, it'd be perfect.
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||icarrizal||7/2/13 10:12 AM|
Sympathize with concerns, but as a counterpoint for devs., is this product not intended to compete with evernote? If not, then Google version of that product is what I want.
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||icarrizal||7/2/13 10:16 AM|
YES! This product is of little value to me without this feature. With this feature it would be indispensable.
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||snobugg4||7/2/13 2:43 PM|
I don't think this is the place to put product suggestions...but I vote for this collaborative Keep!
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||Tiago Azevedo||7/2/13 3:59 PM|
Then, where is it? Because it seems like Google hasn't provided a suggestions place for their products, and they should have some space like that! Hearing what costumers want should be important!
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||elcman||7/7/13 4:47 PM|
I like this idea... but I would rather have in-app sharing so I can send notes to whom I want. It's a nice hack/work around, though.
If I want to share a computer build with a friend... or if I want to share a grocery list with my girlfriend and her son so anyone can add to it, then... that's the idea.

I can't share a note from the web version, but i can from my Android? That doesn't even make sense.
I do want full collab/sharing, and integration with tasks would be great. (also, deadlines that show on my Calendar, with reminders, would help me a lot).
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||elevatorsout||7/24/13 10:53 AM|
Yeah, it doesn't make sense to me why Keep notes aren't in a folder, or directly accessible in Drive. Why not fully integrate Keep notes into Drive such that you don't have to go to a separate web site google.com/keep to access your notes. I'd like to search Drive and have my Keep notes be found and also be able to quickly access them via a folder or label.

I don't even understand that they left this out. I can share my agenda, I can share documents, hell, I can even share pink ponies if I want to... But I can't share Notes and lists? That's a serious WTF?!?
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||Russ Bird||8/12/13 8:25 AM|
Absolutely. I've heard Keep described as a "gateway drug" into the Drive ecosystem, so I imaging that it will eventually be more fully integrated. Currently, it's a nice little stand-alone app (especially on a phone) but the lack of functionality we've become accustomed to through using Drive is disconcerting. Judging from this thread, I'm not the only one who feels this way!
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||Gunnar Haid||8/13/13 3:44 AM|
Major +1 from me on that suggestion.
For all you who want to share 2-Do / Shopping lists, you can easily do that with a regular Google Drive Document. Disadvantage of that is the relatively slow startup of such a Drive doc in comparison to a Google Keep list. Hence, being able to share and collaborate in Google Keep would be so nice, especially for small things like shopping lists.

+1 - Keep must have a collaborative aspect for it to be a "Keeper." I have too many apps now, so i won't use both Evernote and Keep. I will have to stick to Evernote. AND now that I used Keep for keeping notes at a convention, but can't easily share them, i have to figure out how to pull them out.

|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||Dale DeJager||9/4/13 2:35 PM|
I've found that the best way to do this is to create an additional google account that you want to share with others. Add this secondary account to your device. Set it to only synchronize Google Keep. Now in the main screen tap the upper left corner of the app. Then touch the account. From there you can select either your primary or secondary account. If you select the secondary account you will see the Google Keep notes from that account.
By setting up someone else's device in the same way, you can share notes with them on that account without needing to share your private account.

|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||kurgbe||10/1/13 12:34 AM|
Google Keep is a simple product, a stand-alone product outside the Google environment, the kind of development a student would produce. No real integration with Google+, Gmail, Drive, .... It's a weak product. Sexy but weak. I much prefer evernote.com which is also availble on all platforms and which is a finished product.
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||luveenw||10/1/13 10:41 AM|
+1! I frequently plan things out in lists with my wife, and it's extremely useful to me to have these as an easy communication piece when we're both at our workplaces. Trello also allows this functionality, but is kind of clunky to use. Google Keep is super simple, and other than viewing tasks on a calendar, this is really the only functionality I see keeping me from switching over completely. Please make it so!

|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||Mister Crispy||10/10/13 11:54 AM|
I love envernote as well, but you have to have a premium account to share, and the people you share with also have to have premium accounts.
Google Keep would be perfect for sharing a grocery list. Without the ability to share, it's rather lame.
How this product came out in April, and this group has 5 pages of people asking for this feature, and it's the middle of October, and we still don't have it? I would think this would be pretty trivial to add.
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||Weird7||10/15/13 6:19 AM|

|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||Rob Emery||10/20/13 4:41 PM|
I agree to a point... but what if they made sharing a radio button option. either turned on or off based on the individual users needs... For example, me and my wife are starting to use GOOGLE for literally everything, from calendars, to emails, to texting, etc. Keep is just one more AWESOME way for us to keep in touch with pictures, grocery lists, etc. But yes, I would like to also keep a "Master" password list, etc. which I would not like shared... Google needs to make sharing an option...

|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||Whimsy Collective||10/23/13 4:31 PM|
I much rather see Google Keep become like Evernote or The Hit List or Wunderlist. Where one can assign and track assigned date on Google Calendar. I see this becoming more instrumental for project management or project planning.
For once can someone fix Google Task, make it searchable from anywhere, collaborative, assign task to someone, track time Google Calendar and plug-in that tracking data in a spreadsheet.
Google Task and Google Keep should get married, be called Keeper.
Offense, I see a lot of "my wife" in the responses.

Agreed - I tried to share a note and was really surprised I couldn't do this since Keep is categorized as a subset of Drive and sharing is so central to Drive.

+1 .. They already have the sharing groups within Google Docs, but as a mini notes like Keep, they should allow the share level per note card.

I Second (or as it may be (1 millionth that). This tool could beat the pants off of Evernote! Especially if it integrates with something like skitch.

Considering the fact that the last time we seem to have heard anything from Google about Keep in this forum was in April, and at that time the integration with Drive was "in the works" and coming in the "within weeks", I have to say I'm horribly disappointed in Google. I can't believe they launched this product and then seem to have ignored it and its users since April. It would be awesome if someone from Google responded to the reason for such a delay with ANY updates, let alone Drive integration.
(BTW, the Drive integration is still stated as a feature of Keep on Google's own page: http://googledrive.blogspot.com/2013/03/google-keepsave-whats-on-your-mind.html - "Your notes are safely stored in Google Drive and synced to all your devices so you can always have them at hand.")

+1 to sharing in terms of individual notes just like docs in drive.
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||Ridwan Ahmed||10/30/13 12:12 PM|
+1. I have two accounts (work/home) where I would like cross-access.
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||jman180||10/31/13 5:28 AM|
This would make Keep perfect!
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||Jose M. Torres||11/4/13 2:46 PM|
+1. This would be perfect for working on Team projects. Lets make it Happen, Google!
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||Smazey||11/5/13 11:06 AM|
Agreed! Please add the function!
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||Jonathan Hui||11/7/13 1:46 PM|

+1 It sure save me from sorting through sticky notes.:)
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||darck1971||11/8/13 10:37 AM|
I guess I'll add my +1. It seems totally ridiculous to me that they didn't integrate Keep into drive properly. I should have a folder in drive called "Keep" that has notes that I can share.

I am a big fan of Google Keep. The reminder addition last month was a fantastic improvement. This app will be my personal organizer, but sharing needs to happen 1st!
Thank you Google :)
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||mouthpiec||11/9/13 9:28 AM|
this will make it the perfect app!
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||theprettypenguin||11/9/13 9:40 AM|
Definitely! i thought it said i could share the list when i just downloaded it, it had a tip that i swear said how to do this function, but i cant find the tips again in the app.

|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||Vince Poil||11/13/13 9:11 AM|
I would also love the ability to rearrange the order of the list from with the web app or the chrome app
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||Weird7||11/13/13 10:21 AM|
Vince Poil > You actually can "rearrange the order".. in Android app. Hold your finger on the note you want to move, and it will buzz in a second or so, and then you can move it within your other notes.
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||Vince Poil||11/13/13 11:40 AM|
Thanks Weird7 - yes, I was aware of this feature. I am looking for the same functionality on the chrome app and.or the web site
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||Kelly Vaughn||11/15/13 10:04 AM|
It has the sharing option, but only on a tablet. Is this funny or what?
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||Weird7||11/15/13 12:32 PM|
Can you "share it" via Google Keep, to another user, via "Google Keep?" That's the complaint here... It shares out to email/facebook/etc... everything, but not in a native "Google Keep" kinda way...

+1 would use this
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||Mister Crispy||12/8/13 6:22 PM|
Try Quip. It's everything that Keep should be!
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||Adriano Borgobello||12/10/13 12:00 AM|
I couldn't agree more. Google Keep needs to be able to share notes. But until it doesn't, what's most similar to Keep with sharing functionality? Something that doesn't need to open another account (free or worse paying) for each?
|Re: Google Keep Sharing/Collab||Eldaria_||12/12/13 5:36 AM|
One thing that has stopped me from starting to use Keep in any larger scale is the lack of collaboration.
