|Google Currents on Nexus 7 pulling in content I don't want.||TheEnzo||7/25/12 7:00 AM|
Hi, I am using my Nexus 7 here in the UK. I am running Currents and have thrown out all the feeds I don't want and have mostly filled it full of tech news sites.
I am STILL getting stories appearing in the preview window that don't relate to ANY of my tech news feeds, about some Mitt Romney bloke and then a load
of news stories about Ghana. I thought the whole point of Currents was that I get to choose what I see. I've looked through the settings and I cannot find anything
that relates to what I regard as SPAM NEWS FEEDS. I don't want to see UK political news, let alone stuff from the US and Ghana (maybe they are getting UK
political news!) What gives?

You are probably getting images and headlines from the Trending section. As far as I know, there's no way of disabling that section.

That's what I figured, but seriously, that needs to be tweaked. The reason I like Currents is because I can pick my news, so to have it spammed up makes it pointless - similar to the feeds on Windows 8......
Thanks for the reply anyway, but someone here actually has any input on the new version - PLEASE ALLOW US TO SWITCH IT OFF!

Hi all - you can turn off all trending topic subscriptions if you don't like seeing those stories.
In the action bar, switch from Library to Trending. Scroll to the bottom and tap 'Add More Trends'. Then remove all trending categories (by default, only Top Stories should be added).
Hope that helps!

Great! Thank you! Maybe in the next version it could be in a more obvious place, but I'm elated!
