I can't remove it, nothing I do, no advice that I've followed will remove Conduit from showing up in my Chrome browser. I can't believe Google would actually tolerate this. I'll just use Safari or Firefox.

I did that because I made a error. Replies cannot be edited so I figured that if you found the workaround then that was good enough. The error was that I should have called it "Manage Search Engines (not Settings). "Manage Search Engines" is still
Also you might try restoring your computer to an earlier time before the problem started but I'm not sure it would restore a browser. If you want to try that and don't know how let me know. That has gotten me out of a lot of terrible situations.
Uninstalling and reinstalling Chrome after deleting the problem file folder (Conduit, Gadget Box, etc.) in Program Files (x86) would probably fix the "Manage Search Engines" in the Chrome browser.
it is slow. And I already miss Chrome. But I'm pissed. Un and Re-installing doesn't work for me. I see no program files folder for Conduit to delete. I just don't understand why Google allows this.
It must be an extension. Go to Wrench > Tools > Extensions. But I thought you said it wasn't in the Extensions? Disable one extension at a time and test.
