|Google Chrome not saving username and passwords||rupeshkp728||1/18/10 10:10 PM|
Google Chrome version: 188.8.131.52
Operating System: Vista
Please describe your question/comment in detail (for example, steps to reproduce the problem):
Google Chrome does not ask me if I want to save a password and I need to re-enter my password whenever I sign into a site.
This is happening even when I have set the option,"Save Passwords".
Also in the chrome browser I have to type the entire username in the textbox every time.
It does not throw a list of previously entered usernames.
Any fix for these Chrome issues?
These problems are not coming up with IE.

some sites don't let the browser save it. they are trying to save you from other people stealing your account. hackers add scripts to sites to read your usernames and passwords that are stored in your browser to steal your accounts.

in 14 years i've never had an account stolen. i guess they think and old ugly fart like me isn't worth their time. :)

Thanks dwight.stegall for the reply.
But the problem is that that the same site is working as desired on IE but not on chrome.

Follow the instructions in the following link. Remember to remove all the sites from exceptions tab.
After doing this, restart your computer. now Chrome will offer you to save passwords.

It is not saving any new usernames/passwords for me in Chrome, only in FireFox. I checked and the option to save passwords is enabled, just not working. Chrome is BROKEN!!!

Chrome is still broken! It used to ask me if I wanted to save all the time until the newer version was created. Naga Mahesh Kumar back in 2010 says to go to his link, but it's Chrome's original instructions on how to save Website Password plue I don't have any exceptions. This is not a fix. I love Chrome, but because of this issue, I don't use it as often as I would like. Will there be a patch or something soon? This seems to be an OLD problem.

I'm having the same problem and because of it, going back to IE. Every time I log into my bank's site, I am challenged as if my computer is not recognized. I answer the challenge question, get in, but once I close the sessions and access the site again, I'm challenged yet again and have to repeat this process. Frustrating - not having this issue with IE 9.0.

I'm having the same problem. Just switched to Chrome from Firefox, and I'm constantly getting signed out of sites regardless of my settings. It's got nothing to do with the sites themselves; Firefox logged me in just fine. It's especially annoying when logging into the Steam Community website, because I get sent a verification email each time.

I've been having this same issue for about a month. All of my username data is erased when I close the browser. This means that every time I open my browser I have to input my username data AGAIN into each website. I really like Chrome but this is very frustrating! Google - please help!!

These are not answers! They are saying they have the same issues that everyone else is having - since 2010. What gives?

I save all my usernames and passwords in Chrome; two days ago a new version of Chrome was installed, now on a new website it saved the username but not the password. Assume this is a bug in the new version, hope it is fixed, thanks.
Enjoy Chrome a lot.

ok I read this on this topic, not this thread
"I found the fix!!!
You have to go into firefox/IE and make it your default browser, then go back into chrome and IGNORE the 'Chrome is not your default browser' notices, and all your passwords /should/ come back."
WORKS for me. be sure and click the Ignore notice when u open browser next time is what he means, and don't forget to undo all the fixes that didn't work ;o)
