|Massive Flaw in Google Play Market for Devs - Android Market Forum Closed||UKAPPS||3/22/12 2:04 AM|
Today my Google Android dev account was suspended WITHOUT notice. No Email, nothing.
No way to find out why other than sending an email to support who I know will reply with a robot answer and pointing me to a Vague market policies.
I am not going to lie and say my apps are innocent, I did a couple of adult themed apps, but stuck well within the guidelines for mature content, cartoon based graphics and no nudity etc.
But the flaw comes in when I put one of these apps on the market, then find out AFTERWARDS that either google or the users themselves think this content is not acceptable? How on earth are we to know if our apps are within the vague guidelines without ANY approval process. And now it looks like google either didnt like what they saw or someone else didnt like it and they suspended my WHOLE account?? I cans ee 100's of adult themed apps on the market since 2011 and wonder what critera Google use to say what is too adult. This is crazy. I'm moving to another market where the Dev is dealt with, with respect regardless of the content of their apps. Not thrown away like some dirty rag.
Its also curious that I was quoted in the BBC news for questioning Googles support system after the European payment fiasco and a few days later im suspended?

Well the whole suspension handling is a joke with Google.
The policies are defined so that they could probably suspend any App on the market without having to prove anything.
So if you are unlucky and some less than appropriate Google employee looks at your App and feels like suspending it just for the sake of it you can't do shit.
It's also impossible to get a response from the suspension e-mail, it says that you can reply if you have questions. If you reply and ask them to clarify the violation e.g. tell which part of the content violated the terms, or what parts of the description was considered "spam and placement in the store" or what not, you will never get a answer, ever.

Ha, same issue here.
Personally compared to other content on the store, I found my game to be tongue in cheek rather than offensive. Plus I gave it the high Maturity rating.
Googles policy is too vague, they need to expand on what and what isn't acceptable.
Anyway, I sold my legit Android Apps to another Dev and went back to Windows development.
