Re: Server Error when attempting to change Naked Domain Redirect LMckin51-Power Poster 6/7/12 3:00 PM A-records The following action links your naked domain (http://example.com) to your actual site (http://www.example.com). If you skip this step, visitors who leave off the "www" will see an error page. Enter your domain name in the format http://example.com, and list the
Re: Server Error when attempting to change Naked Domain Redirect sheafamily 6/7/12 3:10 PM Please reread my post. The issue is not that my redirect is non-functioning; the issue is the inability to change the setting. This is not DNS related. Thank you
Re: Server Error when attempting to change Naked Domain Redirect sheafamily 6/7/12 6:37 PM I'm tired of seeing nothing done about this obvious bug. After seeing numerous threads about this same issue go nowhere, I've come to realize I cannot rely on Google to fix their own products (they probably don't even know this bug exists since free
Re: Server Error when attempting to change Naked Domain Redirect sheafamily 6/7/12 6:46 PM LMckin51, It would be greatly appreciated if you could mark this question for review by a Google Advisor. It affects multiple users as shown by the handful of threads linked in the original post. No combination of incorrect DNS settings or control p
Re: Server Error when attempting to change Naked Domain Redirect Rob. 6/7/12 7:22 PM I've asked the Advisors to review this thread. Thanks for the detailed breakdown of the issue. If only everyone did this :) Regards Rob
Re: Server Error when attempting to change Naked Domain Redirect sheafamily 6/7/12 7:30 PM Thank you!
Re: Server Error when attempting to change Naked Domain Redirect LMckin51-Power Poster 6/8/12 8:32 AM Can you retry it again  as the Engineers reset some settings.
Re: Server Error when attempting to change Naked Domain Redirect sheafamily 6/8/12 8:38 AM I just tried it again, using Chrome's incognito mode to prevent any issues with cache or cookies. Unfortunately, I am presented with the same server error. There appears to be no change. Thank you
Re: Server Error when attempting to change Naked Domain Redirect LMckin51-Power Poster 6/8/12 8:42 AM Ok i`ll let the advisor know.
Re: Server Error when attempting to change Naked Domain Redirect LMckin51-Power Poster 6/8/12 8:46 AM also is there a reason that you haven't add the four A Records as your domain dns lookup shows no A records http://www.digwebinterface.com/?hostnames=sheafamily.us&type=ANY&useresolver=69.65.17.101&ns=auth&nameservers= You need those four A record
Re: Server Error when attempting to change Naked Domain Redirect sheafamily 6/8/12 8:52 AM As I mentioned in my original post, I did have the 4 A records in place, but I have since removed them to prevent my domain from forwarding to a non-existent page. Once I am able to change this setting to a value I want, I will add the A records back
Re: Server Error when attempting to change Naked Domain Redirect sheafamily 6/8/12 8:53 AM Just to make it clear, this issue existed even with the A records in place. I do not believe my DNS settings should affect my ability to _change_ the redirect setting.
Re: Server Error when attempting to change Naked Domain Redirect Derek_R 6/8/12 9:14 AM Lanny,  http://sheafamily.us All the above questions were answered in another thread about a month ago . . . .  1)  http://www.sheafamily.us. has no current DNS 2) The user seems to be trying to redirect the naked domain to a subdomain, http://mail.sheafamily.us. 3) mai
Re: Server Error when attempting to change Naked Domain Redirect sheafamily 6/8/12 9:24 AM Derek, it is not "a bit like putting a cname on the naked domain". I wish to use Google's naked domain redirect to perform a URL redirect from http://sheafamily.us to http://mail.sheafamily.us. However, what I wish to forward to should not make a difference. I am
Re: Server Error when attempting to change Naked Domain Redirect Derek_R 6/8/12 9:31 AM That reply says it all  . . . . :-) LOL  . . .
Re: Server Error when attempting to change Naked Domain Redirect sheafamily 6/8/12 11:06 AM Derek, let's put our differences aside in an attempt to get this issue resolved. Several threads have been started by other users referring to this same bug so we can benefit the community by tracking down the root of this issue. You've mentioned bef
Re: Server Error when attempting to change Naked Domain Redirect sheafamily 6/8/12 12:12 PM LMckin51, http://mail.sheafamily.us is now going to a 404 page. I did not change anything and it is still set up as the web address for Email in the control panel. Please forward this to the Advisor as it seems whatever they did broke this link.
Re: Server Error when attempting to change Naked Domain Redirect Derek_R 6/8/12 12:55 PM Brian, What differences are you referring to ? Perhaps the fact that I know what I'm talking about and you don't, maybe ?  :-) I've just checked the subdomain setting out again on the naked domain redirect box in my dashboard 'domain settings', with
Re: Server Error when attempting to change Naked Domain Redirect sheafamily 6/8/12 1:01 PM Derek, I'm glad that it works for you, but it is producing a Server Error for me. On top of that, whatever the Google Engineers did earlier has broken my mail link. What I'm thinking is there is some setting (such as a service being disabled) on your
Re: Server Error when attempting to change Naked Domain Redirect LMckin51-Power Poster 6/8/12 1:54 PM Have you reset the mail custom url on your Dashboard? and now when i try your naked domain it redirect to your www.   but since you don't have any A records on your domain then your website will not work when i enter  http://sheafamily.us  in my browser i
Re: Server Error when attempting to change Naked Domain Redirect sheafamily 6/8/12 2:06 PM I've set my mail link to the default and then back to http://mail.sheafamily.us. I am still setting the 404 error. This happened immediately after I was told the Engineers had reset some settings. My naked domain redirect is stuck on "www". I want to change
Re: Server Error when attempting to change Naked Domain Redirect sheafamily 6/8/12 2:15 PM My custom mail link seems to fixed after bouncing the setting. I spoke too soon. Thank you Lanny. However, I am still unable to change my naked domain redirect.
Re: Server Error when attempting to change Naked Domain Redirect sheafamily 6/8/12 2:42 PM I have added the A records back to my domain while investigating this issue. As expected, this had no effect on my inability to change the redirect setting. Going to my naked domain in a web browser will now redirect you to http://www.sheafamily.us, which d
Re: Server Error when attempting to change Naked Domain Redirect LMckin51-Power Poster 6/8/12 3:06 PM You need to try it again as the Engineer's clear the error
