The URL for Analytics Privacy Overview no longer works ClareTanya 6/28/12 9:16 AM The http://www.google.co.uk/intl/en/analytics/privacyoverview.html URL that many thousands of websites, including mine and my clients', use is no longer working. It forwards to another URL http://www.google.com/analytics/learn/privacy.html which now
Re: The URL for Analytics Privacy Overview no longer works Valentin Hussong 7/4/12 3:17 AM I can confirm that this issue still persists and it is a problem for prpbably tens of thousands of sites in the EU since the link is part of the usual boilerplate text most people use on their sites. A redirect to the current page for the GA privacy
Re: The URL for Analytics Privacy Overview no longer works ClareTanya 7/4/12 3:57 AM FAO GOOGLE - ACTION REQUIRED The old, now defunct, Google Analytics Privacy Policy overview URL http://www.google.co.uk/intl/en/analytics/privacyoverview.html needs to be redirected to Google's new page at http://www.google.com/intl/en_uk/analytics/p
Re: The URL for Analytics Privacy Overview no longer works ClareTanya 7/4/12 4:02 AM Glad that someone else has noticed this issue. I thought I was the only person in the world who had noticed as I couldn't find any other posts on the web anywhere! Please encourage others to post on this thread too so that this matter comes to the at
Re: The URL for Analytics Privacy Overview no longer works Valentin Hussong 7/4/12 4:19 PM I think Google is missing out on a huge SEO opportunity here.  Imagine all those incoming links with premium keywords like "privacy", "analytics" and "learn" right in the anchor text...  All of that juice will be lost without a proper redirect!

Re: The URL for Analytics Privacy Overview no longer works AnalyticsPro.Aruna 7/5/12 3:30 AM You can use the following link to know more about Privacy: http://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/ For any questions, you can refer to the FAQs: http://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/faq/
Re: The URL for Analytics Privacy Overview no longer works Valentin Hussong 7/6/12 4:12 AM It would be great if you could set up a working redirect for http://www.google.co.uk/intl/en/analytics/privacyoverview.html and the other country-specific URLs instead of asking thousands of sites to change their links.
Re: The URL for Analytics Privacy Overview no longer works ClareTanya 7/6/12 8:55 AM Aruna - any progress on this issue yet please? Are Google going to do a re-direct on this?
Re: The URL for Analytics Privacy Overview no longer works AnalyticsPro.Aruna 7/9/12 1:34 AM I'm working on getting this fixed. The issue should be resolved soon. We appreciate your patience.
Re: The URL for Analytics Privacy Overview no longer works AnalyticsPro.Aruna 7/9/12 1:42 AM The Privacy & Terms link on the GA home page is now working fine.
Re: The URL for Analytics Privacy Overview no longer works ClareTanya 7/9/12 3:04 AM This issue has not be resolved. I wasn't referring to the Privacy &Terms link on the GA home page.  We need a redirect from the old GA Privacy overview URL http://www.google.co.uk/intl/en/analytics/privacyoverview.html to the new GA Privacy overview
Re: The URL for Analytics Privacy Overview no longer works Valentin Hussong 7/9/12 4:46 AM Second that. Let me elaborate: http://www.google.co.uk/intl/en/analytics/privacyoverview.html  - is linked from 2,000+ web pages, mostly privacy statements - redirects to http://www.google.com/analytics/learn/privacy.html -- which may or may not be
Re: The URL for Analytics Privacy Overview no longer works sarah35 7/12/12 6:37 AM Yup, would be great if we could have been advised- it took a third party to tell us the link no longer works- hardly professional!! Google should step up here... PleaseTech Ltd. Is registered in England & Wales no. 05676559. Registered office: Rock
Re: The URL for Analytics Privacy Overview no longer works ClareTanya 7/13/12 2:42 AM Still waiting for Google to action.....
Re: The URL for Analytics Privacy Overview no longer works AnalyticsPro.Aruna 7/16/12 3:29 AM Hi All, The privacy & terms link now points to http://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/ on this page. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Re: The URL for Analytics Privacy Overview no longer works ClareTanya 7/16/12 3:40 AM Aruna  - I don't know what "privacy & terms link" you are talking about but the URL in question - http://www.google.co.uk/intl/en/analytics/privacyoverview.html  still results in an error not found/404 page and needs to be redirected to http://www.go
Re: The URL for Analytics Privacy Overview no longer works Valentin Hussong 7/16/12 5:41 AM I think there is a misunderstanding about the links in question. I'd say most people in this thread don't care about the links you have on your (Google Analytics) website. We care about the broken links on over 5 Million web pages, including the ones
Re: The URL for Analytics Privacy Overview no longer works spottedMetal 7/18/12 12:37 PM I am considering whether to use Google Analytics for a new site I am developing.  The "Policies & Principles" page, http://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/, references Google's privacy policy, http://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy/, but that
Re: The URL for Analytics Privacy Overview no longer works ClareTanya 7/18/12 1:57 PM Goodness me Google - even more dead links! Why not use some 301 redirects?  Google's own best practice advice is to use 301 redirects when changing the name of an URL - so why has this not been implemented on your own site?
Re: The URL for Analytics Privacy Overview no longer works Valentin Hussong 8/13/12 2:59 AM It appears that proper 301 redirects have finally been implemented by Google, both URLs now redirect to http://www.google.com/analytics/learn/privacy.html.
Re: The URL for Analytics Privacy Overview no longer works ClareTanya 8/13/12 4:17 AM Thank you Google! I am sure that webmasters everywhere will be relieved that you have redirected these URLs!
