Contacting Google about Adsense lhui5484 7/19/12 6:35 AM How do I contact Google about Adsense. The forums don't seem active enough or no on knows the answer.
Re: Contacting Google about Adsense Gracey 7/19/12 7:12 AM It depends on the reason you need to contact them. For some things, there is help available in the help center through various contact form. We can't even guide you towards the correct area without knowing what the problem is. Otherwise, there is no
Re: Contacting Google about Adsense lhui5484 7/20/12 7:32 AM I needed them to answer a few questions on the tax information that way I don't screw up. I tried the forums, but it was no help. I can't/don't know how to contact them directly. I already read the help center. It isn't active enough to the point whe
Re: Contacting Google about Adsense Gracey 7/20/12 8:33 AM Adsense won't really answer questions related to taxes - if you can tell us what questions you have without giving personal specifics we might be able to answer the questions in a general way. Your question isn't answered because ... well as far as I
Re: Contacting Google about Adsense gddsmith 7/20/12 9:32 AM It's under Show Activity on their user name. https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!profile/adsense/APn2wQfELjLWVGoVwoPU_auvnmh3Bve-lj5n0YmMo_ugSRS5IX_YxqDoe_pa7IaG4rZioRd-chdg/adsense/m-ERHhvyYGE/zvLxl2_oCTMJ Sorry but I gave up & left it that th
Re: Contacting Google about Adsense Gracey 7/20/12 10:28 AM Ah thanks - okay, but in any case, we aren't actually supposed to provide tax details beyond what adsense gives them, so I'd say that the answer was what anyone would give them - including Adsense Pros. The Pros would only refer them to their tax pro
Re: Contacting Google about Adsense lhui5484 7/20/12 7:16 PM Well, everyone went through this process, so everyone who filled out the form should know a bit about this. Seems no one wants to help, which leads me back to somehow contacting Google for help since they are the ones seeking the information.
Re: Contacting Google about Adsense Gracey 7/20/12 8:48 PM You don't understand - they won't give you a precise answer. They'll just refer you to your own tax professional for assistance. If the tax information page doesn't answer your questiolns, that's as much as you'll get from adsense. You need to ask a
Re: Contacting Google about Adsense lhui5484 7/21/12 6:57 AM The questions I ask aren't people specific, it is general based questions. I would ask my tax adviser, but I've seen him fill out my tax forms, he isn't that great... I thought Google was the one who was requiring me to fill this out. That is what gd
Re: Contacting Google about Adsense gddsmith 7/21/12 7:32 AM Whether you check the box that you are subject to tax with-holding or not is specific to you & others in this forum or from Google can't answer that question for you. If your tax adviser isn't that great that find someone who is. You may have misread
Re: Contacting Google about Adsense lhui5484 7/23/12 4:03 PM There are two forms: The "IRS Form W-9 Request for Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification" form and the regular W-9 form from the IRS that Google has provided. I know I fill the "IRS Form W-9 Request for Taxpayer Identification Number and C
Re: Contacting Google about Adsense gddsmith 7/23/12 4:52 PM One last time. You use the W-9 that is in the Adsense interface & submit electronically & that's it. Google only supplies the link for the other other W-9 for the directions to the form. That's why it says >Click here to open Form W-9 instructions< &
Re: Contacting Google about Adsense lhui5484 7/23/12 10:11 PM I know that I am not exempt and they will not send a letter to everyone. That is why I can't sign that form because I do not fit any of the requirements (a,b,c) of part 2. (a) Since I was never informed that I was exempt from backup withholding, I do
Re: Contacting Google about Adsense lhui5484 7/25/12 3:06 PM Any advice on that?

Re: Contacting Google about Adsense PeggyK 7/29/12 9:01 AM No one on the forum here can give you tax advice. If you want a definitive answer as to how you should fill out your W-9, you should ask the IRS: http://www.irs.gov/contact/
Re: Contacting Google about Adsense lhui5484 7/29/12 9:37 AM It's not really the W-9 form. It is Google's version of the form. Everyone has filled out the form before, so why can't they advise me. This is more of a logic thing than tax advise.
Re: Contacting Google about Adsense PeggyK 7/29/12 3:59 PM It really is the W-9 form.  No one can advise you because no one here knows the details of your tax and personal financial situation. It's not a good idea to get tax advice from strangers on the internet or share personal information with strangers.
Re: Contacting Google about Adsense lhui5484 7/30/12 8:09 AM I am not really asking for tax advice, I am asking for common sense knowledge. It seems there is a flaw in the Google's W-9 form and I was asking for help on this in case I am reading it wrong.
Re: Contacting Google about Adsense PeggyK 7/30/12 10:13 AM As far as I know, Google uses a standard W-9 form. Everyone's situation is different, which is why none of us can tell you how to fill the form out. If you are not subject to backup withholding, then don't tick the box that says you are subject to ba
Re: Contacting Google about Adsense lhui5484 7/30/12 11:09 AM I was told that the default was that you are no subject to backup withholding, so unless the IRS tells you that you are, you leave the checkbox blank. That has been solved for me. I was referring to part 2. You have to be either a, b, or c to complet
Re: Contacting Google about Adsense Colette W 7/30/12 11:24 AM Most people are going to fall under b - "I have not been notified by the IRS that I am subject to backup withholding"  if you have been notified then you need to work it out with the IRS until they release it & then you would fall under c.
Re: Contacting Google about Adsense lhui5484 7/30/12 1:51 PM Okay. I assumed I did not fall under b. The reason I thought that was because it said I falsely reported things when i did not.
