So typing "do the harlem shake" in Chrome & Firefox and sort of animation starts happening in the page, which is nice, but we use Internet Explorer at my work and college, and typing it, nothing happens in Internet Explorer.
At home I gave it a go and nothing, so I change the useragent string in Internet Explorer 10 to make websites think it is Firefox 19.0.2 and it worked perfectly well, so why have google disallowed users of internet explorer to enjoy this funny trick?
This feature needs to be enabled in these browsers as it isn't fair to isolate customers because of their choice of browser.

Maybe you better ask microsoft as that's their search engine and nothing to do with google.

Sorry? YouTube is Microsoft search engine? i think you do not know what you're talking about. it seems google is deliberately blocking this feature from Internet Explorer so people switch to Chrome, what a cheap trick. Will never use their products now.

It's a gimmick, and nothing more: it's not going to make anyone switch browsers. Besides, since it works in Firefox, it's not going to be very successful in forcing people to use Chrome.
It may be that the browser sniffing routine is badly programmed, or (given that IE10 has only just been released) YouTube engineers weren't confident it would work properly on IE10.
But really, it is just a silly gimmick. There are much more important things YouTube's engineers need to focus on, and if this is something they just knocked up in a spare hour or two, I think we can probably find it in our hearts to forgive them if it doesn't work perfectly.

Will never use their products now. In that case you better stop using Youtube then as that's a Google product
