I don´t get it. You say resource usage is your main like about the new channel but then you say you had 756Kbps DSL back in the old layout days and now you have 25Mbps Cable. So how are you able to compare the usage resource efficiency? I´m asking you this because I, for example, have the exact same provider, resources and bandwidth and I garantee you this new layout is by far LESS efficient. Loading anything now takes an eternity and vid buffering freezes like... 2 times out of 10. I don´t remember having vid buffering freezing on me with the old layouts. So, for me, this new layout is, besides horrible, non-customizable, less functional/practical (more clicks for the same info), filled with bugs and also bandwidth less efficient.
