I don't think that Google/YouTube don't have enough money and server power to keep 2 kinds of homepages. Each user must be let to choose what layout he wants to visit and navigate with pleasure what he likes. Maybe other users like the new layout..... but others don't !
So why not let your "money bringing" users decide what to have on their homepage ? Come on, is it too much to ask ?
