If you search this thread for pb3's posts I believe he's fairly spot on to how the unique views are being recorded. I'm sure Youtube have become fairly ruthless in cracking down on multiple views from the one IP range. For the first 300 views you can press refresh to your hearts content and rack up a heap of views but at the end of the day it's only going to register as one unique view. Get a ton of views from an internet cafe, again likely to get but a handful of unique views. The only real question people should be asking would be whether embedded links to forums/webpages count the referrer's forum/webpage IP as the viewcount or the actual user's IP requesting the download. If Youtube is using the forum/webpage as the identifier then that would definitely be a problem.
