You may actually need legal advice but ... giving credit does not grant you immunity from copyright claims. News orgs are generally left alone because in court the claimant would likely lose (news is fair use), but unless or until you are recognized as a news org, you may get claims. You would appeal based on fair use, but the claimant may not agree. If they don't agree, the only way to settle whether or not your use is permitted is in court.
