I had the same issue with y Samsung UN46D6000 TV and had to chat with the customer service representative. The solution given by him did not work for me but will post it here if it helps somebody else. I believe the app is model based and some Samsung has that Black and some with White. The solution given by the Customer Rep was to register the app and that will allow better control. As I said it did not work for me. However, a few days earlier the app got updated and now at least I can Login to my you tube account now and watch the content I would need. It does not play content automatically anymore. So see if upgrading your app works. The latest app was released sometime in Jan 2012. If the TV is connected to internet it should automatically upgrade itself, but you can delete the existing one and download it again.
