I had a fairly popular video a few years back and was offered to apply for monetisation. About two years ago I followed the steps on youtube to get an adsense account and link the accounts. After submitting the application (with the message saying it sometimes takes up to 48 hours) I had some personal problems that forced me to not be involved with the youtube community for a long time. Recently, having become active again, I noticed that my accounts never got linked. After checking with the Adsense application tracker, I got the following response:

Thank you for taking the time to write to us.

In order to assist your query we've searched our system and found that
your AdSense application associated with XXX...@hotmail.com has
expired, as it was created more than six months ago.

If you'd still like to place Google ads on your site, please submit a new
application at https://www.google.com/adsense/g-app-single-1 . Please note
that you'll need to use an email address different from
XXX...@hotmail.com to submit this application.

So I tried resubmitting an application through adsense, but when the link for my content is youtube, they say I need to do it through youtube. However, my youtube monetisation tab still shows the screen saying I am almost finished and need to wait until the accounts are linked (48 hours).

Sorry for the wordy post. Is there anything I can do? Has anybody had this kind of situation?
