I just went to view my video ...

     Debussy, Arabesque #1, Piano Solo (animation ver. 2)

... and at the top, it said

     "NOTICE: This video is pay gated, however as the video owner you are able to view it for free."

I did not set this video up so that viewers had to pay to see it (though I did enable monetization).

What does "pay gated" mean?  This is the first time I've encountered the phrase.

I Googled for the phrase "This video is pay gated" and got zero results.  Am I the first person that this has happened to?
