If all of this was taking place under Apple it would be smooth, seamless, and intuitive.  To the contrary, Google has made it complex, confusing, and anything but intuitive.  I have a doctoral level degree and consider myself to be reasonably intelligent yet I find this whole accounts, linked accounts, etc., issue to be totally exasperating.
