We have been hearing reports about recent spam messages appearing to be sent from " sup...@youtube.com". From your reports, these messages have subject lines similar to: YouTube Service sent you a message: Your video has been approved
Thank you for reporting this to us. We are aware of this spam attempt and are currently working with email providers to block the impersonators who are responsible for it.
Things you can do to protect yourself:
- Review which type of emails you have elected to receive.
- Be cautious of any email messages you receive which fall outside the preferences you have set.
Check where a link goes BEFORE you click: - Hovering your mouse over any link will usually highlight a preview of where that link goes in the lower left-hand corner of most browsers.
- All legitimate messages being sent from YouTube will contain links which point to YouTube.
Be sure to mark these messages as spam through your email service provider.
