I don't understand what is so difficult about understanding that we, your users, need a sane way to manage subscriptions.  Why can't we have the same system as Google Reader?

At this point I don't use the youtube homepage at all unless I mistakenly access it.  I use Google Reader to track my subscriptions in a way that I can actually ignore those uploads that I don't want to see.

I wonder if anyone is studying any change in usage statistics fro the home page.  i expect that the data would show fewer unique visitors to the homepgage since these changes...but an overall more time spent on the homepage for those who use it.
