I was trying to Unlink an old @gmail.com address which was the primary email address associated with my youtube account. In the process of unlinking the account I must have missed the pop up screen which was (I assume) suppose to prompt me for the new @gmail.com email address. I'm pretty sure my Firefox browser blocked the pop up screen but I can't be sure that is the crux of this issue.

This is where it all started:

First off they don't mention anywhere that the change cannot be made to your primary youtube email. So I went ahead and followed the procedures. I made it as far has the "My Account" page in my Youtube account and tried to quickly change the associated email under the "email options"(I can't remember all the tab names - simply going by memory). I was in the process of saving the change but the save command didn't recognize my regular password.

This leads me to believe:
- That as soon as I unlinked my primary account the associated email and password no longer work for that account.
- That the channel is floating without any associated email account.

I've tried:
- Logining into the account several times and the usual login credentials are not being recognized. The @gmail.com email address no longer has a youtube association (because of the unlinking)...
- Prompting the system to send a password reset after a failed attempt of logining in using the "pre- @gmail.com" UserName which was first used to login circa 2008ish.
- I though that they would use the secondary email on the account as a back up but no such luck...
