Looking over those Holocaust comments, it is a lot of user censorship.
It's very very very easy to mark comments as Spam.
It only takes 2-4 "marked as spam" to censor a comment.
Trolls know this, and mark comments as spam with multiple accounts.
There is also automatic spam marking byYoutube itself.
In those cases, look
for a deleted comment, and then a repost with an edit. Very often a
deleted comment, by the user himself, and then reposted (with a minor
edit) will count as SPAM to Youtube.
In my experience, do NOT do Delete/Repost to fix a typo. It's not worth it. Youtube counts it as SPAM.
Do it right the first time! :P
Second trick, to not getting counted as AUTO SPAM by Youtube, quoting someone else.
The trick to fix this isn't that Youtube searches for the text, it actually is much simpler.
What Youtube does is Embed a hidden character in each Comment.
If you copy paste a comment, that has this HIDDEN CHARACTER in it, the post is automatically marked as SPAM.
Youtube has been using this system of "quote catching = SPAM" for years.
Here's the character:
%EF%BB%BF
" "
^ The character is there, between the quotes. It's an invisible character.
The character is embedded into any comment, in 1 spot only, BEFORE a space.
The technical name for this character is called a Byte Order Mark.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Byte_order_mark
Anyway, to quote a person's comment, all you need to do is find this hidden Byte Order Mark, and delete it.
Then you can post your comment, with quotes, without it being incorrectly auto detected as "SPAM".
So, in addition to
user censorship (way way way way way too easy to censor other people),
there are some rules that Youtube puts in to catch SPAM.
There also used to
be more rules in comments, when if you tried to post a link, it would
auto mark as SPAM. (this way, YT allowed spammers to THINK they were
posting correctly, but actually, their comments got auto hidden).
But now it just gives you an error, out right. |
