I'm really happy to have found this forum. My nonprofit, Center for Student Opportunity, is developing a new online video campaign called I'M FIRST. The campaign will invite people who are the first generation in their family to attend and graduate from college to take a pledge and submit user-created youtube videos offering encouragement and advice for becoming the first in your family to go to college.

The question I have is that the youtube username/channel "imfirst" is already registered but has not been active since it was created in 2006 and has never uploaded video content.

Is there anything that I or youtube can do to appeal to take over this username/channel?
