Guys, guys, relax...If we want our proposal to be considered seriously by management, we are going to have to speak in a language that they understand - the language of money. First of all, unless you live in the third world, 99 cents per month is merely a symbolic amount to pay. However for Google it adds up to billions of dollars of revenue if there are hundreds of millions of channels eventually.
Second, notice that I said in exchange our channels would be FREE OF ADVERTISING. In other words, if we play a video through our channels (like we used to be able to do with our previous channels) there would be no annoying advertisments before the video. Our symbolic fee would compensate for Google's loss of advertising revenue. Wouldnt you like to be free of those annoying adds??
And third, to be perfectly honest, if Google were to give us back our brilliant channels, which would basically be a brilliant service that they would provide us, why should they not get back in return a tiny payment for providing that service?? I don't know how old you guys are, but if you are under 30 then I think your objection to paying for a service is because you are used to downloading free music, movies ect. Believe it or not, once upon a time people actually payed money for a product or service. While its not justifiable to get ripped off for buying a product or service, it is justifiable to pay a certain fee in exchange for that product or service.
Therefore this proposal is a win / win for all involved. |
