Oh jesus christ these are counter intuitive. They remove a lot of what made YouTube, YouTube. I was never the biggest fan of the current layout as it is, but they grew on me, in the end, they were streamlining the original page layout. Nice… But this?

Here, allow me to show you what my page looks like now(http://www.majhost.com/gallery/DarkOverord/SS-11/ytpre2012.png). You can note it’s not the tidiest in the world. But it gives your channel a defined area for videos. Details about you. Bulletins, and then the community area of you page… here’s the “new” look in it’s default style(http://www.majhost.com/gallery/DarkOverord/SS-11/yt2012questionmark.png)

Where to begin!? We’ve lost the community section of the page entirely. Like. It’s gone. Forever. There’s not Friends or Subscribers. There’s no visible channel comments anymore. Besides the videos, it was the community that made YouTube what it is. Users left comments on other users pages saying “we really enjoyed your videos!” or the such like. Then those users may go “hmm, this guy is subscribed to these people, maybe they have cool videos!”, and so they venture forth, seeing if they do indeed have cool videos. And all was good…

Google, and whoever the idiot who designed the new channels, however. Are telling us that this is WRONG! How dare users look up other users through user pages instead of using the truly almighty Recommended bar.

However, I’m not sure if page comments work, the fact that old comments do not appear give me the impression that once again, google and the pillock who designed the layout, do not want us to interact in public.

But wait, what’s that DO? You have more reasons to complain!?

Yes little voice out of nowhere. I do. Go back to the old(http://www.majhost.com/gallery/DarkOverord/SS-11/ytpre2012.png) and new(http://www.majhost.com/gallery/DarkOverord/SS-11/yt2012questionmark.png) images. Have you seen it? That’s right. Colour. As I said when I noticed it, “what’s the point in selecting a background colour or image, if the rest of the page stays a static and boring grey?” It stifles the potential for customisation, and honestly, just remove the option to change the background if that’s the plan YouTube, because seriously
