I am part of a large group of people who have found YouTube a great way to share information about politics, corruption, religion, and many other real life issues that face us.
Before these changes, we were able to have videos go viral and get valuable information out to thousands of people.
Now, we are lucky if we get three hundred views on a video.
We don't get notices on all new comments to our videos. We don't get notices that those we subbed to have uploaded a new video, it's very random and scatter shot. We no longer have 'friends', we have 'contacts', a business term that removes the humanity from a service that once embraced it.
And now our home channel looks like a horrible nightmare remake of MYSPACE, with no options to be creative and personalize it as we once had.
Sure we can opt out now, but it's guaranteed you will ram this down our throats eventually just as you have all these other changes that have hurt us. While I'm not one who makes money from my channel, many others do, and because they are NOT part of a corporation, all their hard work will count for NOTHING, as views will be dropping, because people are getting fed up and leaving.
I'm more than a consumer. I am a human being, with rights and thoughts and opinions and dreams, and YouTube was once a grand place where I could meet other human beings. Now, it is reducing us all to nothing more than a consumer, expected to accept having ads shoved in our faces for stuff we don't even need while our own videos are reduced to gathering dust.
Count me disgusted and very unhappy with the 'new youtube', and if you do a search on your own service, you'll find quite a few videos saying the same thing. If you want to side with the new world order corporate nightmare, go ahead, but rest assured, you will enjoy a short life as we the people bail out and leave you holding the bill with no viewers to make money for your new corporate masters.
Not leaving yet, but I'm sure I will, eventually, especially if you force me out as it seems you are doing to all of us. I won't be reduced to just being a consumer for more corporate crap. Thanks but no thanks.
