No you don't have to get used to this new layout.  If you run mozilla firefox, download the grease monkey add on.  Then go to http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/95080  and install that.  You will get your old youtube homepage back.  :)  Fyi also give it a few seconds for it to take effect.  It WORKS :)
