Immensely disappointed in Google

I fired up google to search for current affairs topics for an upcoming exam, like always I turned to google timeline. I was redirected to the timeline of Google Corporation, astonished I looked around and peered through the page, nothing was out of ordinary except the fact that google timeline now showcased google crops history and development. I thought to my self did they discontinue google timeline? Next I checked the More > Even more options in google. To my surprise Timeline wasn't listed there any more. Like my fellow disgruntled goolge timeline users I was devastation, Google Timeline was an integral tool for my research. Everyone here has so rightly pointed out, it gave a bird's eye view, a focus on the bigger picture, how past events have shaped present time and how they'll affect the possible future. Now this feature has been annulled and that too without a feasible replacement. I know Google is all for improvement however I failed to discern how culling a viable research tool is the path to "improvement".

Acting on suggestions found on various forums, I turned to advance search to find solace, it was any thing but comforting. The date feature kept giving me an error "Invalid date" even though the format was correct. I could no longer query the search engine for specifics pertaining to important events that had occurred in a recent past. Search result were nothing close to being accurate and one could no long view results in an orderly chronological fashion. It was simply an amalgamation of links that required more time to review than to act on them, time which is not a luxury I can indulge in at the moment.

Well... I am sure, ranting here wouldn't bring back timeline however it sure does makes me feel better!
