Hi Kelly..... Nope, clicking on the gear did not help.  As a college librarian, I always taught our students to go straight to the Advanced page so they could do power searching (by stuff posted in the last week, or from government domains only.)  This is getting to be too much of a hassle to figure out a way to get to that Advanced Search page quickly.  Might be time to check out Bing.  I am not the only librarian who is thinking along these lines: http://www.batesinfo.com/Writing/Archive/Archive/june2010.html  Please bring back the Advanced Search on the main page!!
