I post to Google Groups, and I use an editor that allows me to ensure that text lines that matter (e.g. source code) do not exceed 70 characters.  However, they still get broken up and wrapped.  Is there any way to prevent this?  70 characters is quite narrow, and I wonder whether Google Groups has a specification for the character count at which lines are broken and wrapped.  (While it may seem obvious that they should, it might be the case that they base their wrapping on the width of the line, as calculated for proportional spacing fonts).
