I have left posting here for one month after "the event" as I can only imagine how busy things are at Google with all these people saying their piece and quite rightly. I also wanted to check my performance over a period of time to make sure it wasn't just coincidence but parts of my site have been dropped heavily like everyone else.

I spent 5 years writing solidly and "giving away" good, unique information for free and 99% of all the content on my photography tips site is from my head, my past 25 years experience and all in my own words. I have always followed white hat techniques and tried to comply in every way with Google and the other SE's. Not so long ago I decided it was time to go full time with my website and ploughed even more hard work into it and then came along this change.

My Google search results have been hit quite badly for some of my best pages which again, are all my own words which has affected my affiliate sales and income. I don't spam or create duplicate content and cannot understand why I should lose out to the likes of eHow etc.

My Adsense earnings have dropped significantly (for me anyway) and on some days are in single figures like they were years ago! I am now thinking of replacing all Google Adsense ads for other products or services that are relevant, high value for my readers and which could hopefully replace my lost Adsense income.

I also have been re-investing a lot of my earnings into Adwords but now have to cut back because of this.

I sincerely hope Google get this sorted soon for the sake of the small guy creating high value content websites. In the meantime, I am slowly and methodically going through all of the poorer pages on my site and updating them which in an "every cloud has a silver lining" kind of way is a good thing.

Thanks,

Nick Stubbs
