I have been reading the posts carefully after posting about the drop in traffic to our site http://www.historycentral.com, and its is a little depressing.  For our company it hurts but will just put a little more effort in our Apps and books and a little less effort in our content  and web stie since all of our effort for the last two years was for naught in terms of revenue.  However I hear the stories of all of web sites whose ability to put money on the table has been destroyed and this seems to be the heart of a problem.  The old theory of unintended consequences.  I am sure that Google did not plan to hurt all the people that have been hurt, but they have become too big and too powerful to make changes without taking into account the possible consequences to real people.  At this point they should be making very small incremental changes- changes that effect 1% of results at a time.  Yes they may slowly correct, but what about the people who may not be able to make payroll this month because their sales dropped drastically.  When a company has become so large and influential as Google and has a motto- First Do No Evil, then they need to take into account what might happen.  A little collateral damage is not acceptable.
