Site: aqua-fish.net . It lost about 50% of US traffic since 24th February and now in many cases it's outranked by content that has been "copy&paste"-ing my content without permission. I already post my opinion in these forums, but here's a simple example anyway:
Original content: http://www.aqua-fish.net/show.php?h=guppy
Search query in google (just one example, but there are tons of them and due to lack of time I'm providing this example only right now):
"freeze dried foods, mosquito larvae). They eat almost"
or URL: http://www.google.com/search?q=%22freeze+dried+foods,+mosquito+larvae).+They+eat+almost%22&hl=en&safe=off&start=0&sa=N
My site ranks 8th even though it's my own original content and even though other websites just pasted what I've created. Of course, it's not a phrase that someone will search for, but it's an example showing that the original content is valued worse than illegal copies.
In my opinion it's totally unfair, because even if I decided to rewrite all 380 articles, there still would be sites that will steal content again and again. In addition there are French, German and Slovak articles on my site (yes, I've paid thousands euros for these) and it is impossible to update each article every month just because of someone who's lazy to create own content (or even rewrite existing articles).
My site helps fishkeepers all around the world and if you check all comments at:
http://www.aqua-fish.net/show.php?h=guppy
http://www.aqua-fish.net/show.php?h=discusfish
http://www.aqua-fish.net/show.php?h=angelfish
http://www.aqua-fish.net/show.php?h=oscarfish
(and there are hundreds similar URL's, of course)
then anyone must understand why I'm so annoyed about this negative aspect of the last algorithm update. My site is online since 2005 and there are tens of thousands aquarists whom I've helped (along with my colleagues) with almost 100% satisfaction.
Hopefully this issue will be fixed... |
