We have investigated a number of these claims, and all of them seem to be a case of confusion because our users oftentimes have multiple Google Voice numbers associated with multiple different Google Accounts (hey, we understand, Google Accounts are great!). 

However, oftentimes our users are receiving reclaim notifications for accounts they haven't used in months, or that they have even forgotten entirely about! Please, before posting on this thread, double check that the Google Voice number you received a reclaim email regarding is the SAME Google Voice number you are using actively.  You will need to cross check the Google Voice number in the email you received against the number you see in the top righthand corner of your screen when you log in at http://www.google.com/voice.
