This will always be an issue with sketchy styles. Those style elements are made up of shorter and longer "strokes" that are actually raster images and when foreshortened too much (and that is the case with small segments in a circle) they are "dropped out". If you could add some very short pieces, they may be displayed better but eventually, from a farther distance, even they will disappear.
