Gaieus is exactly right- SketchUp doesn't have any sense of curve continuity along the edges in your model. As such, it cannot apply a single continuous stroke across them and instead must draw lots of short strokes. Then the short strokes are dropped out by the "Detail" filter. This is an unfortunate limitation of the Sketchy Style rendering system.
